Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheese optional
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
- Ketchup and mustard optional
Instructions:
Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat
While the grill or pan is heating, divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties
Season each patty with salt and black pepper
Place the patties on the grill or pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer a more well-done burger
During the last minute of cooking, you can add a slice of cheese on top of each patty to melt if desired
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster for a minute or until they are lightly browned
Assemble your burgers by placing lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and onion slices on the bottom bun
Add the cooked patty with or without melted cheese on top
Add ketchup and mustard if you like, then top with the other half of the bun
Serve immediately and enjoy your quick & easy burger
