Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 burger buns
- 8 slices of bacon
- 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 1 cup arugula leaves
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 jalapeno peppers, thinly sliced seeds removed for milder jam
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Set your grill or griddle on the stove to medium-high heat
Shape the ground beef into 4 burger patties that are all the same size
Add salt and pepper to each patty
Putting the bacon slices on the grill and turning them over a few times will make them crispy
Take it off and let it dry on paper towels
The burger patties should be cooked for four to five minutes on each side, or until theyre done the way you like them
Crumble some blue cheese on top of each patty in the last minute of cooking and then cover the grill to melt the cheese
Make the quick jalapeno jam while the burgers are cooking
Set the olive oil in a saucepan and heat it over medium-low heat
Put in the jalapeo peppers and red onion slices
Saut for three to four minutes, until the vegetables get soft
Add the apple cider vinegar and sugar, and stir them in
Let the mixture cook for 10 to 15 minutes, or until it thickens and tastes like jam
Take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit
Put the Dijon mustard and mayonnaise in a small bowl and mix them together to make a burger sauce
Spread the mayo-mustard sauce on the bottom half of each burger bun before putting them together
Add a blue cheese burger patty, two slices of crispy bacon, and a handful of arugula leaves to the plate
Put a lot of the quick jalapeno jam on the top half of each bun, then put it on top of the stack of burgers
